Congratulations
to the BROOKLYN FOURTEENTH for winning their second-ever
Farley Cup in 2008.
Founded
in 1996, The National Strat-O-Matic Hockey League (NSHL)
is a play-by-email league using the Strat-O-Matic
game engine. Twenty-four teams will compete in the 2007-08
NSHL season, the league's eleventh. Each
team plays 82 games over the course of a twenty-two
week season, with the top sixteen teams advancing to
the Farley Cup playoffs.
Home
owners play four games every two weeks, either by following
the road team's Computer Manager (CM) or by head-to-head
play over Net Meeting. League
files are centrally updated and can be found
here.
Owners also manage their team rosters, orchestrating
trades, free agent signings and draft picks. Each two-week
period begins and ends with the NSHL Newsletter.

In
this issue of the NSHL Newsletter #11.20 of July 1,
2008:
Fourteenth
Win Second Franchise Cup
In the end, it was a heck of a series, with all but
one game being decided by a single goal. And again,
in the end, it was the Brooklyn Fourteenth becoming
just the third team in NSHL history to have their
name etched on the Farley Cup more than once, defeating
Houston in five games to be crowned 2008 champions.
Ovechkin
Snatches Second MVP Award
Ovechkin
took home the Gretzky Award as the league MVP in a
runaway landslide over the rest of the NSHL field,
making it two in a row for the Russian who is well
on the way to being the league's next iconic player.
